Alison Eagles (2016-2017)
Alison is a MLIS student with an interest in special libraries. She holds a BA Degree in Anthropology from Carleton University and a Library and Information Technician Diploma from Seneca College. Having worked in government and academic libraries for the past four years has sparked a greater interest in how people interact with information, particularly in learning more about the role that libraries play in supporting access to knowledge.
Jacob Ericson (2016-2017)
Jacob Ericson is a MLIS student originally from Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Arts in Medieval Studies, where he focused his studies on how gender and sexuality featured in medieval literature. While at the University of Virginia, Jacob worked with the school’s Special Collections to digitize their rare manuscript collection. His work in digital curation led him to pursue an MLIS degree at Dalhousie University. He is currently interested in learning about how Big Data and Data management are influencing the field of Information Management and what new jobs they are creating. Some of his interests outside of libraries include: Photography, coffee, video games, and Fencing.
Lauren Bull (2016-2017)
Lauren is a MLIS student who grew up in Cambridge, Ontario. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in intercultural studies and Spanish from Houghton College in Western New York, where she also studied education and TESOL. She is currently a student intern at the Sexton Design & Technology Library. Lauren is interested in literacy, children’s and youth services, community program development, and reference work.
Katie Gallant (2016-2017)
Katie Gallant is an MLIS student from Elmsdale, Prince Edward Island. She graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with Honours. Her interests include reading, creative writing, video games, and public libraries.
